Myofascial pain syndrome is a common diagnosis in the outpatient department. Ciinicians often emphasize pain management and neglect the under-lying causes. This study was based on 5 cases of microtumor manifested with myofascial pain syndrome. The data were collected from April 1984 to December 1991 in Veterans General Hospital Taichung. The clinical symptoms which lasted from 1 month to 17 years, physical examination which included active, passive & resisted active ROM, painpattern, image study, operative findings and outcome will be discussed.
