Diabetes mellitus is a disease that happens when the body does not produce enough insulin or does not respond to insulin. Type two diabetes happens when there isn’t enough insulin produced in the body, when there is resistance to the action of insulin in the body, or when the body does not use the insulin produced properly (Type 2 Diabetes, n.d.).
