Domestic violence or interpersonal violence (IPV) is a serious public health issue in the United States. IPV is commonly considered to be an issue that occurs in adult relationships. However, most victims of IPV first experience some form of IPV during adolescence, which is known as teen dating violence (TDV). In the United States, TDV impacts about 26% of female and 15% of male adolescents. In Southern California (Orange County) approximately two thirds of adolescents have experienced some form of TDV.
