Attitudes Toward Persons With Disabilities And Disability Awareness Of University Students Providing Healthcare, Canan Ertemoğlu Öksüz, Özlem Kanber Uzun, Şahi Nur Kalkışım, Nihat Burak Zihni

Background: This study aims to determine the attitudes and disability awareness of university students who provide health services to persons with disabilities.

Methods: This study included 291 volunteer students studying at the Vocational School of Health Services, Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), and conducting clinical practice at KTU Farabi Hospital. A sociodemographic form was used to determine the individual characteristics of the students included in this study, and the Attitudes toward Disabled Persons Scale (ATDP) was applied to determine their attitudes toward persons with disabilities.

Background: The growing number of elderly members of the population is expected to increase the demand for more dedicated nursing students committed to providing excellent care. This study aims to determine prevailing attitudes toward the care of older adults among undergraduate nursing students at a public university in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Background: Parents have an important role in delivering sexuality education to their children. However, Asian parents are reluctant to discuss sexual matters with their children owing to the sensitivity of the topic and their lack of sexual health knowledge. This study aimed to examine Malaysian parents’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices in providing sexuality education to their children.

Methods: A self-administered questionnaire was used to conduct this cross-sectional study featuring 200 Malaysian parents. Descriptive and univariate analyses were performed using Statistical Package for Social Study (SPSS) version 23.0.

Background: Cancer knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) levels of communities are essential to be assessed to enhance cancer educational programs. This study aimed to determine the KAP level of the Kuantan community on the effects of monosaccharides on cancer. The association between the sociodemographic data and KAP level of the community has also been evaluated.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was performed among residents living in the Kuantan community. Only 303 of 380 responses were included in the data analysis using the chi-square test.

Pemerintah Indonesia menargetkan cakupan pemberian air susu ibu (ASI) eksklusif sekitar 80%, tetapi hasil Riset Kesehatan Dasar tahun 2010 menunjukkan cakupan ASI eksklusif baru mencapai 15,3%. Dari tahun ke tahun, prevalensi pemberian ASI eksklusif cenderung menurun dengan berbagai alasan, antara lain ibu pekerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proporsi pemberian ASI eksklusif pada ibu pekerja. Rancangan penelitian yang dipakai adalah potong lintang pada data primer yang terdiri dari 120 responden.
