This article discusses the health promotion program among Indonesian migrant workers and their children living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, aiming for a better awareness of their health condition. In particular, this article describes and analyzes the community engagement program in Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur (SIKL) and Muhammadiyah Malaysia (PCIM) to provide health education and screening. Based on the preliminary study, Indonesian migrant workers and their families have limited access to healthcare facilities and programs. To raise awareness and understanding of maternal and children’s health, a team from Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, Indonesia, conducted a program called Tinggi Cerdas. It is a community development program in Kampung Lio, Depok, West Java. This article evaluates the impacts of activity related to the participant’s awareness and knowledge about maternal and children’s health. Community development in Lio Village performed by Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia students aimed to improve the health status of villagers. Community leaders must understand their role in controlling COVID-19, such as monitoring misleading information and providing socialization, education, protection, monitoring, and evaluation activities in the community, due to the numerous limitations of local governments in managing large populations during this crisis. The COVID-19 crisis has disrupted non-communicable disease (NCD) services in primary health care, and NCD is one of the comorbidities that increase mortality in COVID-19 patients. Efforts to accelerate NCD services were carried out with the focus on two programs: the development of integrated polyclinic NCD services and the training of community health workers (CHW) at the Tanara Community Health Center (CHC) in Banten. The geriatric minimal service standard (SPM) coverage in Depok has steadily decreased from 37.53% in 2013 to 11.8% in 2018. One factor affecting the problem is a lack of patient participation and the inability of posbindu (integrated service post for older people) cadres to perform their tasks. Successful stories of community engagement existed during the Ebola disease outbreak in Liberia, indicating that a combination of government and community efforts are needed in addressing pandemics or epidemics. This study examined the effectiveness of “AKU PEDULI” psychoeducation in helping the parents of typically developing children to increase their knowledge of special needs children and inclusive education at an inclusive kindergarten. “AKU PEDULI” is abbreviated from Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus dan Pendidikan Inklusif (Special Needs Children & Inclusive Education).
