Anatomical Analysis Of Inferior Alveolar Nerve Relation To Mandibular Posterior Teeth Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography: A Retrospective Radiographic Analysis Study, Shehabeldin Mohamed Saber Prof.Dr. Jan 2024

Anatomical Analysis Of Inferior Alveolar Nerve Relation To Mandibular Posterior Teeth Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography: A Retrospective Radiographic Analysis Study, Shehabeldin Mohamed Saber Prof.Dr.

Dentistry

Introduction: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is reliable in the assessment of structures related to teeth. The assessment of the inferior alveolar neurovascular (IAN) bundle location using CBCT is considered one of its prime uses in different mandibular surgeries. Methodology: Retrospective CBCT data of patients presented to the institute were assessed to measure relations of IAN. Measurements were taken to assess the bone thickness adjacent to IAN, the superior-inferior dimension between the canal and the teeth, and the dimension between the canal and the inferior border of the mandible. Results: Out of the 170 patients the root apices nearest to …

Aesthetic Management Of Peri-Implant Soft Tissue Dehiscence. A Case Report Of A Combined Perio Restorative Approach, Ahmed Hamdy, Dalia M. Ghalwash Apr 2023

Aesthetic Management Of Peri-Implant Soft Tissue Dehiscence. A Case Report Of A Combined Perio Restorative Approach, Ahmed Hamdy, Dalia M. Ghalwash

Dentistry

This case report designates a combined perio restorative technique in the management of peri-implant 3-dimensional soft tissue defects in an esthetic zone. A staged approach was implemented to treat this case; the first stage was planned to treat the horizontal defect around the implant, in which crown was removed, and coronally advanced flap with connective tissue graft were used to treat the soft tissue defect. At the second stage, a modified coronally advanced flap with connective tissue graft was used to augment the vertical defect, and no vertical releasing incision was made in this stage to maximize the blood supply …

Enhanced Human Periodontal Ligament Stem Cell Viability And Osteogenic Differentiation On Two Implant Materials: An Experimental In Vitro Study, Engy Adel Ahmed Farag, Sara Fikry Dr, Shereen N. Raafat Jan 2023

Enhanced Human Periodontal Ligament Stem Cell Viability And Osteogenic Differentiation On Two Implant Materials: An Experimental In Vitro Study, Engy Adel Ahmed Farag, Sara Fikry Dr, Shereen N. Raafat

Dentistry

Background: Surface roughness of dental implants impacts the survival of adult periodontal stem cells and rate of differentiation. This research was conducted to test how human periodontal ligament stem cells behaved on yttria stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals and polyetheretherketone (PEEK) discs with different surface topographies.

Methods: Discs roughening was prepared by sandblasting. Stem cells were cultivated on zirconia discs with a polished surface, polyetheretherketone (PEEK) discs with a polished surface, sandblasted zirconia discs and sandblasted polyetheretherketone (PEEK) discs. Cells viability was assessed after 24, 48, 72 hours. Scanning electron microscopy was used to examine the adherence and attachment of cells. …

Objectives. This study aimed to clinically assess and compare the width of peri-implant keratinized mucosa following the use of a readymade plastic stent with apically repositioned flap versus conventional apically repositioned flap with papillary sparing incisions during single-stage implant placement protocol. Materials and Methods. A total of 20 patients were enrolled in this study. In the test group, a prefabricated implant-retained stent was clipped on the healing abutment after implant surgery to reposition the keratinized tissue buccoapically. In the control group, simple interrupted sutures were applied instead of using a stent. After the surgical procedure, the width of …

Skeletal Stability Using Adjustable Versus Mini Plates Following Bilateral Sagittal Split Ramus Osteotomy (Bssro): A Randomized Clinical Trial, Moataz Bahaa, Omniya Abdelaziz, Gamal Moutamed, Ibrahim Shindy Feb 2020

Skeletal Stability Using Adjustable Versus Mini Plates Following Bilateral Sagittal Split Ramus Osteotomy (Bssro): A Randomized Clinical Trial, Moataz Bahaa, Omniya Abdelaziz, Gamal Moutamed, Ibrahim Shindy

Dentistry

Background and Objective: This study aimed at assessing the skeletal stability of adjustable miniplates in comparison to conventional miniplates following bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (BSSRO)

Materials and Methods: Fourteen patients were divided into 2 equal groups. Patients in both groups underwent BSSRO and mandibular setback. In the study group, the bone segments at the osteotomy site were stabilized using the adjustable plates and four 2.0 mm monocortical screws. In the control group, bone segments at the osteotomy site were stabilized using conventional miniplates and four 2.0 mm monocortical screws. Each patient was assessed in terms SNB, mandibular plane angle …
