The Efficacy Of Vitamin C Oral Supplement On Wound Healing After Tooth Extraction, Nanthanut Pisalsitsakul

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect and proper dosage of oral vitamin C supplement on post-extraction wound healing. Methods: This study was a split mouth, double-blind, randomized-controlled clinical trial of 42 patients who underwent symmetric bilateral non-infected premolars extraction. The patients were randomly divided into 3 groups (14 patients for each group); 1.placebo vs vitamin C 600 mg/d, 2.placebo vs vitamin C 1,500 mg/d and 3.vitamin C 600 mg/d vs vitamin C 1,500 mg/d. Each group was prescribed placebo and/or vitamin C three times a day for 10 days after each tooth extraction. The assessment …

Use Of Digital Panoramic Radiographs As A Screening Tool For Diagnosis Of Osteoporosis In Thai Postmenopausal Women, Net-Nada Chongruangsri Jan 2019

Use Of Digital Panoramic Radiographs As A Screening Tool For Diagnosis Of Osteoporosis In Thai Postmenopausal Women, Net-Nada Chongruangsri

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Purpose: To investigate the correlation between panoramic radiographic indices and osteoporosis, and to determine whether digital panoramic radiographs could be used as a screening tool for the diagnosis of osteoporosis in Thai postmenopausal women. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study of sixty Thai postmenopausal women with and without osteoporosis. The subjects were divided into three groups based on diagnosis by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA): normal, osteopenia, and osteoporosis equally in each group. The panoramic radiographic indices measured were mental index (MI) and mandibular cortical index (MCI). Pearson’s correlation test was performed to analyze any correlation between MI, MCI, and BMD …

Comparison The Accuracy Of Implant Position Between Static And Dynamic Computer-Assisted Implant Surgery With Two-Implant Support Fixed Partial Prosthesis, Paweena Yimarj Jan 2019

Comparison The Accuracy Of Implant Position Between Static And Dynamic Computer-Assisted Implant Surgery With Two-Implant Support Fixed Partial Prosthesis, Paweena Yimarj

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Objectives: To compare the accuracy of position and parallelity of two implants, using static and dynamic CAIS systems. Materials & Methods: 30 patients received two implants randomly allocated to 2 different CAIS systems. Optimal implant position and absolute parallelity was planned based on preoperative CBCT. Implants were placed using surgical guide (static CAIS, n = 15) and real time navigation (dynamic CAIS, n = 15). Implant 3-dimentional deviation and parallelity was calculated after surgery. Results: The mean deviation at implant platform, apex and angulation in the static and dynamic CAIS group was 1.04 ± 0.67 mm, 1.54 ± 0.79 mm, …

Comparative Study On The Effectiveness Of Myofunctional Therapy Of The Tongue After Frenectomy In Ankyloglossia, Nattakarn Povichit Jan 2019

Comparative Study On The Effectiveness Of Myofunctional Therapy Of The Tongue After Frenectomy In Ankyloglossia, Nattakarn Povichit

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Background: This study's objective of was investigate the effectiveness of myotherapy on tongue mobility and tongue function after surgical correction in ankyloglossia. Method: This study was carried out in 15 subjects assigned to the control group (n=5). The other 10 individuals with ankyloglossia were randomly received frenectomy alone (F; n=5) and frenectomy performed with tongue myofunctional therapy (FM; n=5). Tongue myofunctional therapy was performed 1 day after surgery, and 3 times a day for 3 months. Age, gender, height, weight, IBM, Kotlow's free tongue movement, maximal interincisal mouth opening (MIO), interincisal mouth opening with tongue tip to maxillary incisive papillae …

Evaluation Of Maxillary Sinus On Anatomical Characteristics And Related Factors Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography Images, Nutcha Benjaphalakron Jan 2019

Evaluation Of Maxillary Sinus On Anatomical Characteristics And Related Factors Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography Images, Nutcha Benjaphalakron

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate prevalence of the anatomical characteristics in maxillary sinuses; and its association with sex, age, tooth area and dental status using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods: Retrospectively reviewed CBCT images of maxillary sinuses from 370 sinuses in 185 patients at the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University were evaluated. Residual ridge height (RRH), lateral wall thickness (LWT), sinus septa, posterior superior alveolar artery (PSAA), membrane thickness (MT) and ostium were evaluated and compared according to sex, age, tooth area and dental status. Results: Mean RRH was 12.13 ± 3.64 mm. Mean LWT …

Comparison The Accuracy Of Implant Position Among Mental, Static And Dynamic Computer-Assisted Implant Surgery In Totally Edentulous Patients, Svas Jaemsuwan Jan 2019

Comparison The Accuracy Of Implant Position Among Mental, Static And Dynamic Computer-Assisted Implant Surgery In Totally Edentulous Patients, Svas Jaemsuwan

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Objective: To evaluate the accuracy of placed implants using three different CAIS systems in totally edentulous patients Materials and Methods: Totally edentulous patients requiring implants for full-mouth restoration were eligible for this study. All implants (n=60) were classified into three groups of CAIS systems equally. In mental and static CAIS groups, coDiagnostiXTM software (Dental Wings Inc, Canada) was selected for implant planning. All virtual images were used to facilitate the surgeon placing implant by conventional manner in mental CAIS group, and fabricate the surgical template for guided implant surgery in static CAIS group. On the other hand, the Iris–100 software …
