Background: Baby boomer gay men have experiences discrimination in healthcare settings. Members of the LGBTQIA+ population are often studied as a single entity, which fails to account for the distinct cultural and social generational differences within this population that may affect their experiences of health care. Background: Research consistently shows that influenza vaccines prevent medical appointments, treatments, and disabilities. In the United States (U.S.), 25-49 million individuals contracted influenza from October 2022 through January 2023. However, despite a greater community consciousness regarding viral contagions and the improved availability of vaccinations through primary care settings, ambulatory clinics, and local pharmacies, adults in the U.S. continue to miss the national influenza vaccination goals of 70%.

The frequency of hospital falls is a significant clinical problem and directly related to patient safety. Ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) is a preventable health condition causing increased hospital stays, over 35,000 deaths each year, and one of the costliest healthcare associated infections. VAP occurs when a patient develops pneumonia after being intubated and mechanically ventilated. Preventative measures are commonly in place amongst facilities, despite these measures VAPs still are occurring. Poor compliance with preventative measures have been observed in regards to oral care. Background. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and individuals who identify as transgender and queer (LGBTQ) often experience negative healthcare encounters (Parameshwaran et al., 2017). According to the Williams Institute of Law (2022), there are 1.3 million adults who self-identify as transgender. This education project utilized a pre/post-test design to explore attitudes, practices, and knowledge of primary care providers when interfacing with individuals who identify as transgender in primary health care settings.

Theoretical Framework. This project was guided by Lewin’s Change Theory.
