Major depression is a serious global health issue and one of the most common mental health problems women face in the United States. The problem in this DNP project, Education of Staff on Promoting Yoga Activities in Women with Depression, was the lack of staff knowledge in using yoga activity to treat women with depression resulting in suboptimal care of women with depression. AbstractPoststroke depression in stroke survivors is a more common occurrence than once believed as the survivor of stroke must contend with the loss of their former self and with residual physical, communicative, cognitive, and/or psychological changes. Mental health conditions affect various aspects of an individual’s quality of life (QOL). Patients with anxiety and depression have a greater risk of having a negative perception of QOL. The gap in practice was the lack of an assessment tool to measure QOL in patients with mental health disorders. The purpose of this Doctor of Nursing Practice project was to develop a clinical practice guideline (CPG) recommending the best evidence-based measurement tool for QOL in patients with anxiety and/or depression.
