Congestive heart failure (CHF) is one of the most common healthcare problems for older adults. Because of its high and rising prevalence in this population and its significant influence on healthcare costs and quality of life, CHF is becoming a serious public health issue in the United States. More effective strategies for preventing and managing CHF in older people are desperately needed (Rich, 2015). The disease accounts for 3% of hospital admissions in the United States and affects more than 6.5 million Americans (White-Williams et al., 2020).
