Dissociative amnesia is a rare psychiatric disorder presenting with sudden retrograde memory impairment and inability to recall autobiographical information that is inconsistent with normal forgetting. This case report discusses dissociative amnesia with dissociative fugue in a middle aged male that led to him becoming homeless. Because of his autobiographical forgetting, he was unable to access services, and we present here the distinctive “detective work” needed to not only help treat his symptoms, but also help him legally establish who he is and gain access to housing. OSIs, including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), are a growing problem for public safety organizations, requiring new and innovative solutions. Background: Challenging behaviors are prevalent among individuals with autism spectrum disorder; however, research exploring the impact of challenging behaviors on treatment response is lacking.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify types of autism spectrum disorder based on engagement in different challenging behaviors and evaluate differences in treatment response between groups.

Methods: Retrospective data on challenging behaviors and treatment progress for 854 children with autism spectrum disorder were analyzed. The aim of this study was to help men convicted of child sexual offenses learn to recognize and engage their character strengths over 12 months. Participants were six men convicted of contact and noncontact (internet) child sexual offenses. All participants were members of a community-based reintegration group for registered citizens. In the first weeks of the study, participants received the Values in Action Inventory of Strengths survey. The survey, containing 240 questions—10 items for each of the 24 character strengths outlined—helped participants identify their top character strengths. HIV and hepatitis C (HCV) are major public health concerns in the United States and are a focus of significant federal health policy attention. Recently, the federal government has taken numerous steps to promote the equal treatment (also known as parity) of mental and physical health issues. The two most impactful actions are the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Act of 2008 and the Affordable Care Act. These acts focus on the traditional avenue for parity change—insurance regulation. While these acts have improved parity, major gaps in coverage and treatment between mental health/substance use disorder treatment and medical/surgical treatment persist. Though art therapies and cognitive therapies are both well-established as treatments for PTSD, no studies thus far have tried to consolidate the pros of each into a single therapy. Through modifications to CPT procedures to include expressive fictional written accounts rather than the standard autobiographical account of traumatic events, I believe that the expressive writing paradigm can be utilised to create a new therapeutic procedure for PTSD. Due to lesser emotional intensity and the freedom allowed by creative endeavours, I believe that this procedure would not only yield positive outcomes comparable to CPT, but also have lower drop-out rates than …
