Background and Aims: East African countries have high rates of maternal and childmortality and morbidity. Studies have shown that the involvement of male partners inreproductive health can benefit maternal and child health (MCH). This scoping reviewaims to provide an overview of the evidence across East Africa that describes malepartner involvement and its effect on maternal, reproductive, and child well‐being.

Methods: Ten databases were searched to identify quantitative data on male'sinvolvement in East Africa. Studies reporting qualitative data, “intention to use” dataor only reporting on male partner's education or economic status were excluded.Studies were organized into five a priori categories: antenatal …

Background: Over 250 million children are not reaching their developmental potential globally. The impact of prenatal factors and their interplay with postnatal environmental factors on child neurodevelopment, is still unclear—particularly in low- and middle-income settings. This study aims to understand the impact of pregnancy complications as well as environmental, psychosocial, and biological predictors on neurodevelopmental trajectories. Background: While much progress was made throughout the Millennium Development Goals era in reducing maternal and neonatal mortality, both remain unacceptably high, especially in areas affected by humanitarian crises. While valuable guidance on interventions to improve maternal and neonatal health in both non-crisis and crisis settings exists, guidance on how best to deliver these interventions in crisis settings, and especially in conflict settings, is still limited. This systematic review aimed to synthesise the available literature on the delivery on maternal and neonatal health interventions in conflict settings.
Methods: We searched MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL and PsycINFO databases using terms related to …

Policy and decision making should be based on evidence, but translating evidence into policy and practice is often sporadic and slow. It is recognised that the relationship between research and policy uptake is complex and that dissemination of research findings is necessary, but insufficient, for policy uptake. Political, social, and economic context, use of (credible) data and dialogues between and across networks of researchers and policymakers play important roles in evidence uptake. Advocacy is the process of mobilising political and public opinions to achieve specific aims and its role is crucial in mobilising key actors to push for policy uptake. …
