Evaluating U.S. Household Telemedicine Use In Primary Care Settings, Robert Osobase
Evaluating U.S. Household Telemedicine Use In Primary Care Settings, Robert Osobase
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic's arrival in the United States restricted access and use of telemedicine in primary care providers (PCPs) settings. Addressing this issue is crucial since telemedicine is a confirmed method of encouraging patients and PCPs to promote quality health care. This quantitative study investigated the association between age, gender, and race, and PCPs offering telemedicine and U.S. household adults using telemedicine during COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. The Donabedian framework, which considers aspects of an organization's structure, process, and outcome, served as the study's foundation, incorporating age, race, and gender as independent variables, and PCPs and US adults as dependent …
Experiences And Attitudes Regarding The Availability And Usage Of Telemedicine Services Among Providers During A Pandemic, Keya Gaston Brooks
Experiences And Attitudes Regarding The Availability And Usage Of Telemedicine Services Among Providers During A Pandemic, Keya Gaston Brooks
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Telehealth became a prominent fixture in the way healthcare was delivered during COVID-19. Providers were forced to offer telehealth as an optional mode of care. Although little research was available, studies about the experiences and attitudes of providers regarding their intention and willingness to use telemedicine before the pandemic was exiguous. The purpose of this study was to understand providers perception and use behavior patterns regarding the acceptance and adoption of telemedicine during the pandemic. Data collected from the COVID-19 Healthcare Coalition Telehealth Impact Survey was used to help characterize the experiences and attitudes of providers regarding telehealth utilization during …

Relationship Between Rurality, Home Telehealth, And Bed Days Of Care For Military Veterans Readmitted For Heart Failure, Storm Li Morgan
Relationship Between Rurality, Home Telehealth, And Bed Days Of Care For Military Veterans Readmitted For Heart Failure, Storm Li Morgan
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Heart failure (HF), the leading hospital admission diagnosis for military veteran patients discharged from a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital, is more common in patients residing in rural than urban areas. Primary care managers prioritize reducing readmissions for HF as up to 80% of health care costs for HF, projected to increase to $69.7 billion annually by 2030, incur during hospitalizations. Underpinned in Andersen’s behavioral model of health services use, the purpose of this quantitative ex post facto correlational study was to examine the relationship between residence rurality, home telehealth enrollment, and bed days of care for military veteran …
Development And Validation Of A Clinical Practice Guideline For Telemedicine, Jennifer Johnell Upton
Development And Validation Of A Clinical Practice Guideline For Telemedicine, Jennifer Johnell Upton
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Access to healthcare necessitated the utilization of telemedicine during the international pandemic of COVID 19. Telemedicine use surged in family practice in 2020 with limited resources for appropriate telemedicine patients. The problem identified for this DNP project was the lack of resources for telemedicine guidelines in family practice. The purpose of this project was to create a clinical practice guideline (CPG) to initiate screenings for appropriate patients for telemedicine. The Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) concept and framework were utilized to develop the CPG. The project question identified was whether the development of a CPG on telehealth delivery in a …
The Impact Of Telehealth Services Offered By Home Care Agencies On Patient Safety, Moyna Temple
The Impact Of Telehealth Services Offered By Home Care Agencies On Patient Safety, Moyna Temple
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
There is little available research about how home care agencies attempt to address patient safety during the nurse virtual healthcare visit. The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to determine, during the delivery of telehealth care by a home care agency, to what extent the level of education of the registered nurse, the level of education of the director of the home care agency, and the clinical decision support system (CDSS) impact patient safety. The framework for the study was the complex sociotechnological systems model. Data from the 2007 National Home and Hospice Care Survey were analyzed using logistic …
Telehealth Efforts To Reduce Hospital Readmissions Of Congestive Heart Failure Patients, Sirfornia L. Deasfernandes
Telehealth Efforts To Reduce Hospital Readmissions Of Congestive Heart Failure Patients, Sirfornia L. Deasfernandes
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a chronic condition that affects millions of individuals in the United States. There is no cure for CHF, but medical interventions can help treat the symptoms and improve health outcomes. The purpose of this quantitative study was to determine if telehealth services help to reduce the readmission status of patients diagnosed with CHF. The theoretical framework used in this study was the individual and family self-management theory to help focus on self-management behaviors that contribute to improving the patients' health outcomes. The research questions were focused on addressing CHF patients receiving telehealth services and whether …
Development And Evaluation Of A Heart Failure Tool For Homebound Patients, Matthew Kaspar
Development And Evaluation Of A Heart Failure Tool For Homebound Patients, Matthew Kaspar
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
With more than 700,000 new diagnoses annually, congestive heart failure (CHF) is a chronic condition that affects the chambers of the heart. When not managed correctly, the disease rapidly progresses to substantial fluid volume overload that impacts activities of daily living and the overall quality of life. The financial implications for poor CHF management cost a mean annual medical expenditure of $33,427 per patient per year. The need for a diagnostic and prognostic at-home protocol is needed in the medical community, as there is currently no such tool on the market. Donabedian's framework was used to guide the formulation and …
Effect Of Home Telehealth On Vterans With Chronic Heart Failure, Yolanda Major
Effect Of Home Telehealth On Vterans With Chronic Heart Failure, Yolanda Major
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
More than 5 million Americans have heart failure, with approximately 5% of those affected being veterans. As the number of patients with CHF continues to rise, new treatment options are needed to improve the quality of care. Current studies show Telehealth is one treatment option. The purpose of this scholarly project was to determine if veterans diagnosed with CHF were able to maintain optimal weight and blood pressure following participation in Care Coordination Home Telehealth (CCHT) program. The CCHT program provides care to veterans, through the use of monitoring devices placed in their home. Bandura's self-efficacy theory was used as …
