More than half of the population of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands had not visited their primary care provider for a year in 2016. The Chamorro people are less willing to seek or access care than other ethnic groups. This qualitative study aimed to understand the Chamorro people's access and utilization of Saipan's health care services to improve their access and, ultimately, their health. Disparity in access to appropriate mental health care among African Americans compared to non-Hispanic Whites is growing. The purpose of this quantitative retrospective study was to examine the relationship between access to an outpatient mental health facility with case management and access to outpatient mental health services among African Americans with Medicaid compared to non-Hispanic Whites with Medicaid.
