Purpose: To determine if acute application of transcranial direct current simulation (tDCS), administered via the Halo Sport device, influences performance during cognitive, balance, and a motor task in healthy older adults. In addition, the purpose was to determine if tDCS altered PFC activation during any of the three task domains. Methods: Twelve healthy older adults (50.4 ± 5.1 years old) volunteered to participate in two separate trials of cognitive, balance, and a motor task following 20 minutes of tDCS via the Halo Sport or a Sham condition. Attention Test Performance And Normal Aging: The Effect On Executive Function, Rachel Carmen

In this pilot study, twenty-nine participants completed the following three executive function tests: the Behavioral Assessment of the Dysexecutive System, the Functional Assessment of Verbal Reasoning and Executive Strategies, and Auditory Process Training. Participants, aged blank to blank, were divided into two age groups: young adults, which was comprised of 16 participants, and older adults, which was comprised of 13 participants. Performance means of the two groups were established and compared. There were no predictive qualities to the younger adults’ scores, and there were only in two FAVRES subtests for the older adults: accuracy and reasoning. Further research is needed …

Medication noncompliance is linked with a complex medication regimen, poor drug knowledge, physical limitations, psychosocial characteristics, and poor communication. As important as this problem is to patients’ health especially those over the age of 65, there really is no solution to this problem or even steps to a solution. After interviewing eight care providers, I have come up with a few steps to begin solving this problem. These steps include a medication dispenser, communication between care providers, and education provided to patients by all care providers. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to identify alternatives and factors considered in the decision to place parents in nursing homes and to Identify feelings, relationships, needs, and satisfaction levels of the adult children involved in the decision. The researcher also sought suggestions of ways adult children's needs might be met.

Procedure. Adult children who were listed as next-of-kin of parents residing in Black Hawk County, Iowa intermediate care nursing homes were sent questionnaires developed by the researcher.
