The Common Allergic Mechanism Of Rhinitis And Asthma, Esther Feinstein

Allergic rhinitis and asthma are closely linked diseases which are very prevalent within the population, affecting millions. They are both characterized by chronic airway inflammation. They are often present in the same patients and rhinitis is even considered an independent risk factor for asthma. Treating allergic rhinitis can reduce the severity of asthma. Mechanisms connecting the two have been researched for many years. Studies show that they have a similar allergic mechanism that is mediated by the same cells.
