The assessment of personality has important implications for clinicians, personality researchers, and the workplace setting. The accurate assessment of personality is therefore crucial to these various fields. However, measurement error has not had the necessary attention it deserves. In particular, the effect of transient measurement error on personality assessment has only begun to be recently studied. Furthermore, only undergraduate samples of relatively homogenous studies have been examined.
