In this fifth interview, Dr. Spanier finishes his discussion of the administration of the founding Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. John R. Beljan. He discusses Dean Beljan's interaction with university leaders and the Dayton-area medical community, Dean Beljan's leadership and management style, and Dr. Beljan's move to the Office of Health Affairs as Vice-President.

The first area is Faculty/Staff recruiting in which Dr. Beljan discusses the methods, priorities, and focuses of the recruiting efforts of the School of Medicine staff. Several key individuals are highlighted.

The second area deals with the development of the Residency Programs inherited and initiated by the Wright State University School of Medicine.
