A pickling cucumber variety trial was planted at the Saginaw Valley Research and Extension Center (43.399097, -83.694497, Frankenmuth, Michigan). Bejo (BJ), Nunhems (NU), and Rijk Zwaan (RZ) seed companies donated parthenocarpic (seedless) varieties for mechanical once-over harvest.

A serious drawback of sustainable livestock production system in Kerala is the inadequate seasonal distribution of fodder production. The quantity and quality of herbage available in the lean dry months from January to May is very low. Mineral deficiencies or mineral excess affect livestock production in most regions of the world. For this reason, it is important to know the mineral contents of forages used in animal feeding. Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.), which has become a popular grain crop around the world in recent years, is used as forage in animal feeding. This study was carried out to determine the contents of macro- and microminerals and mineral balance in 9 different quinoa varieties.
