Minuartia Hamzaoglui (Caryophyllaceae), A New Species From Turkey, Murat Koç, Ahmet Aksoy

Minuartia hamzaoglui M.Koç & Aksoy (Caryophyllaceae) is described as a new species of sect. Minuartia in Turkey. The specimens were collected from Mount Erciyes (Kayseri). The new species is related to Minuartia erythrosepala (Boiss.) Hand.-Mazz. var. erythrosepala. M. hamzaoglui is an endemic species which has a distribution in Central Anatolia. The differences between the species are discussed. Description, distribution, illustration, and conservation status of the new species are given. Seed structures were examined by scanning electron microscopy.

Two new records of Orobanche L. have been added to the 37 species of this genus previously reported from Turkey. Orobanche owerini (Beck) Beck is reported as a new record to flora of Turkey for the first time, and the existence of O. reticulata Wall. that was mentioned as a doubtful record for Turkey has been confirmed. Macro- and micromorphology of the taxa are discussed, geographical distributions in Turkey are mapped, and details of their habitat, ecology, and taxonomic remarks of the studied taxa are provided.

Euglenozoa Occurring In Adzopé Reservoir, Côte D’Ivoire, Ble Alexis Tardy Kouassi, Allassane Ouattara, Kouhete Philippe Da

The Euglenozoa flora of the Adzope Reservoir in Côte d'Ivoire was investigated from January to December 2005. The species composition of the assemblage was compiled, accompanied by illustrations. Forty-four taxa were identified in the temporal survey. Ten taxa (22.22%) are new for Côte d'Ivoire. The taxonomic structure presents 22.32% of the species common to the freshwater of West Africa, with most of the taxa (89.5%) found to be cosmopolitan. An endemic taxon, Trachelomonas pisciformis var. bicoronata Coute & Iltis (Euglenaceae), was observed. In this study, 2 new species of zerconid mites, Prozercon giresunensis sp. nov. and Prozercon murati sp. nov., were collected from Giresun Province in Turkey and are described and illustrated on the basis of adult females.

The present study deals with the first records of Laubieriellus salzi and Spiophanes afer in the Sea of Marmara. They were collected from Mytilus galloprovincialis, Zostera marina, sand, and shell fragments substrate at depths ranging from 0.2 to 5 m in November 2010. This study gives more information regarding the morphological and distributional features of these species.

Taxonomic Notes On Erythmelus Enock (Hymenoptera: Mymaridae) From Xinjiang, China, With Description Of A New Species, Hongying Hu, Serguei Vladimirovich Triapitsyn

Six species of Erythmelus Enock in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China, are reviewed, and an illustrated key to females is provided. One new species, E. (Erythmelus) quasipicinus Hu & Triapitsyn sp. nov., is described. Erythmelus wenquanensis Li, Lin & Hu, syn. nov., and E. brevifuniculatus Li, Lin & Hu, syn. nov., are synonymized under E. (Erythmelus) flavovarius (Walker) and E. (Erythmelus) israeliensis Viggiani & Jesu, respectively. New extralimital records are given for some of the species.

During a 3-year faunistic survey in the Strandzha Mountains and along the Black Sea coast, a total of 44 species of Pselaphinae were recorded, 40 in the Bulgarian part and 30 in the Turkish part of this mountain range. Dianthus vanensis Behçet & İlçim is described as a new species. It is confined to Çatak District (Van) in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. The diagnostic characters and taxonomic comments on the species are given. Notes are also presented on its ecology. A distribution map of new and related species is also provided.

Sixty mosses belonging to 12 families and 31 genera are presented from Al-Ghab plain in north-west Syria. Among these, 29 species are recorded for the first time for the bryophyte flora of Syria.

Seed Micromorphological Survey Of The Minuartia Species (Caryophyllaceae) In Iran, Golaleh Mostafavi, Mostafa Assadi, Taher Nejadsattari, Fariba Sharifnia, Iraj Mehregan

Seed micromorphology of 20 species of Minuartia L. (Caryophyllaceae) that represent 2 different subgenera (i.e. Minuartia subgen. Spergella (Fenzl) McNeill and Minuartia subgen. Minuartia) were examined using scanning electron microscopy. Some qualitative and quantitative characters such as seed length and width, seed shape, cell shape, and cell ornamentations were studied. The results showed that seed micromorphology might provide useful tools in recognition and separation of Minuartia hamata (Hausskn.) Mattf. from other species of sect. Minuartia. Bellevalia malatyaensis Uzunh. & H.Duman is described and illustrated as a new species from East Anatolia. The distribution area of this species is restricted to Erkenek (Malatya)-Gölbaşı (Adıyaman). It grows in open areas of Pinus brutia Ten. forest. It resembles Bellevalia gracilis Feinbrun, but differs in scapose habitus, leaves, and characters of the capsule. The morphological diagnostic characters and karyological features are discussed.

The type specimen of Magnolia odoratissima Y.W.Law & R.Z.Zhou (Magnoliaceae) conflicts with the protologue and belongs to the genus Parakmeria Hu & W.C.Cheng. A new name, Magnolia kwangnanensis S.G.Chen & Q.W.Zeng sp. nov., and a new type are designated to accommodate the original description. Here we provide new data and a detailed morphological description for this species. Notes are also presented on its habitat, pollen morphology, and conservation status.

Astragalus silifkeense Dinç, Aytaç & Doğu, sp. nov. (Fabaceae, sect. Astragalus Bunge) is described as a new species from Silifke (Mersin Province), in southern Anatolia, Turkey. The new species is closely related to A. columnaris Boiss., endemic to Denizli in western Anatolia, and A. gilvus Boiss. in Ankara Province, Turkey. In this paper, 2 lepiotaceous mushrooms [Lepiota indica sp. nov. and Lepiota attenuispora sp. nov. (Agaricaeae)] and 1 Limacella magna sp. nov. in the Amanitaceae are described. Lepiota indica has scurfy brownish carpophores, minute spores, and chains of golden brown-walled pileal elements. Lepiota attenuispora has a shaggy appearance, an appendiculate veil of the pileus margin, and a stipe sheathed with soft cottony scales. Limacella magna is a species characterized by prominent brown scales on the pileus and stipe, presence of a glutinous layer, and a trichodermal pileus cutis.
