Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

The aim of this study was to determine the effects of various mixtures of different litter materials containing wood shaving and barley straw on body weight gain, feed consumption, feed efficiency, carcass yield, antioxidant state, litter quality, and coccidio oocysts in broilers rearing. For this purpose, a total of 120, 0-day-old Ross 308 broilers were assigned to 3 groups with 4 replicates. Wood shaving, barley straw, and wood shaving + barley straw group had 10 chicks in each replicate, a total of 40 chicks in each group. When the overall period of the study was examined, it was determined that …

Pace International Law Review

This article addresses the complex issue of plastic pollution—focusing on ocean plastics. Specifically, this article examines the ocean plastics problem, critiques current binding and non-binding international environmental law surrounding ocean plastics, hazardous wastes, and pollution, and proposes a more effective solution to the ocean plastics problem. Section I provides a basic history of the creation of plastics and discusses plastics as they are used today. Section II considers the concerns surrounding ocean plastics, focusing on impacts of plastic on marine ecosystems as well as human health effects. Section III, IV, and V discuss the ongoing attempts to address the ocean …

Nutrient Contents Of Pinus Brutia Ten. (Pinaceae) And Pistacia Terebinthus L. (Anacardiaceae) Growing On Marl And Conglomerate Substrata In The Eastern Mediterranean, Hüsni̇ye Aka Sağliker, Cengi̇z Darici

Turkish Journal of Botany

The eastern Mediterranean region is one of the main areas of the Mediterranean vegetation containing Calabrian cluster pine (Pinus brutia Ten., Pinaceae) forests and terebinth (Pistacia terebinthus L., Anacardiaceae) communities. This study was carried out with the leaves, shoots, leaf litters, and soils of Calabrian cluster pine and terebinth growing on both marl and conglomerate substrata in the eastern Mediterranean region (Turkey) to determine average C, N, P and K contents, and the amounts of humic and fulvic acid in these plant soils. The average element contents of leaf, shoot, leaf litter and soil samples of both plants from the …

Nutrient Dynamics Of Olea Europaea L. Growing On Soils Derived From Two Different Parent Materials In The Eastern Mediterranean Region (Turkey), Hüsni̇ye Aka Sağliker, Cengi̇z Darici

Turkish Journal of Botany

Olea europaea L. (olive tree, Oleaceae), an important tree in the Mediterranean region, adds considerable amounts of leaf litters to soils, which may help in maintaining soil productivity. The aim of this study was to investigate temporal changes in the carbon (C), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) contents of leaves, shoots, leaf litters and soils together with the amounts of leaf litters and humic and fulvic acids in the soils of olive trees growing on both marl and conglomerate parent materials in the Eastern Mediterranean region (Turkey). The element contents of leaf, shoot, leaf litter and soil samples …
