Genetic Analysis For Grain Filling Duration In Wheat Using Joint Segregation Analysis, Kalim Ullah, Naqib Ullah Khan, Shah Jehan Khan, Imdad Ullah Khan, Muhammad Irfaq Khan, Rehmat Ullah Khan, Samrin Gul

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

Mixed inheritance analysis using joint segregation analysis was investigated in 6 basic populations (P_1, F_1, P_2, BC_1, BC_2, and F_2) of 4 wheat crosses, i.e. Hashim-08 × LU-26, Farid-06 × Shafaq, Parula × Blue Silver, and TD-1 × D-97603, for grain filling duration during the crop season of 2011/2012. In cross Hashim-08 × LU-26, the duration of grain filling was controlled by 1 major gene and the additive-dominance-epistasis of polygenes (model D). In cross Farid-06 × Shafaq, the duration was controlled by additive-dominance-epistasis of 2 major genes (model B-1). However, in crosses Parula × Blue Silver and TD-1 × D-97603, …

Effects Of Climatic Factors On Grain Vitreousness Stability And Heritability In Durum Wheat, Gordana R. Brankovic, Dejan Dodig, Miroslav Z. Zoric, Gordana G. Surlan-Momirovic, Vesna Dragicevic, Nenad Duric

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

Modern durum wheat breeding programs are becoming more oriented toward creation of not only high-yield cultivars but also high quality, with good stability for the trait of interest. Vitreousness of grain is associated with semolina granulation, color, and protein content; it is regarded as one of the most important characteristics in the grading industry, affecting the commercial value of the commodity. A set of 15 winter and facultative durum wheat genotypes was tested for grain vitreousness across 6 environments for 2 consecutive years. Three-way analysis of variance showed that genotype, location, and year contributed 4.1%, 20.6%, and 42.2% to the …
