Tests To Determine The Maximum And Submaximum Aerobic Running Velocity, Thássio Ricardo Ribeiro Mesquita, Silvan Silva De Araújo, Marcus Vinicius Ferreira, Matheus Oliveira Varjão

International Journal of Exercise Science: Conference Proceedings

The running velocity on the anaerobic threshold (VAT) has been used as an important parameter of training performance. The purpose of this was to relate the VAT with the maximum aerobic velocity (MAV) and VO2max in two males. Age 26 years (+5.7), body mass 82.0 kg (+5.7) and height 182.5 cm (+4.9). It was applied the Léger-Boucher test on a track to determine the MAV and VO2max. After 72 hours, a minimum lactate test (MLAC) was applied. The VAT was identified as corresponding to the lower concentration of lactate (LAC), which was determined in portable lactimeter. The heart rate (HR) …

Determination Of Blood Glucose Threshold For Indirect Method Using The Heart Rate In Runners, Giovanna Benjamin Togashi, Rafael Pelegrina Pieroni, Maria Fernanda Cury Rodrigues, Mateus Moraes Domingos

International Journal of Exercise Science: Conference Proceedings

The Anaerobic Threshold (AT) is a parameter highly used for physical training prescription. The determination of AT can be performed by direct and indirect methods. The aim of this study was to determine one indirect method to predict the effort intensity that match to Blood Glucose Threshold (BGT), using the maximal Heart Rate from one incremental test in treadmill (HRmax) in runners, 37.57±2.87 years (n=7). The protocol consisted of one incremental test in treadmill, with initial speed of 8 km.h-1, increased by 1 km.h-1 every 3 minutes until the voluntary exhaustion. Blood glucose and HR measurements were done before the …

Comparison Between Glucose Threshold And Critical Velocity For Aerobic Capacity Determination In Men, João Marcos Pereira Duarte, Gustavo Mello Rissato, Vitor Karlos Piubelli Carrara, Runer Augusto Marson

International Journal of Exercise Science: Conference Proceedings

The blood glucose threshold (GT) and critical velocity (CV) has been used for the assessment of the aerobic capacity for trained individuals in replace the blood lactate and ventilatory parameters for anaerobic threshold determination. But, there are few studies with physically active subjects. The purpose of this study was to measure, compare and correlate the running velocities associated with the GT and CV of a group of untrained men. Fifteen adult men (23±3.74 years old; 72±10.97 kg; 1.76±0.07 m; 21±5.36 % fat mass) performed the following tests: 1) 500m and 3km time trial (Vm500 and Vm3km); 2) Incremental test on …
