Gas Measurement Device, Megan C. Frost, Weilue He Jan 2021

Gas Measurement Device, Megan C. Frost, Weilue He

Michigan Tech Patents

A device including a first chamber, a second chamber, and a membrane permeable to neutral gases but impermeable to water that is positioned between the first chamber and the second chamber. The membrane includes a first layer including PVDF and PDMS, and the PVDF has a plurality of pores at least partially filled with at least some of the PDMS.

No-Releasing Polymers And Uses Thereof, Megan C. Frost, Genevieve Romanowicz Feb 2018

No-Releasing Polymers And Uses Thereof, Megan C. Frost, Genevieve Romanowicz

Michigan Tech Patents

The present invention provides stable, photosensitive polymers that release NO response to intensity and wavelength of light, methods of making such polymers and methods using such polymers.

Comt1 Gene Fiber-Specific Promoter Elements From Poplar, Chung-Jui Tsai, Edward Odhiambo Anino Sep 2013

Comt1 Gene Fiber-Specific Promoter Elements From Poplar, Chung-Jui Tsai, Edward Odhiambo Anino

Michigan Tech Patents

Polynucleotide constructs contain fiber-specific elements which are used to target expression of polynucleotides and polypeptides to the vascular fibers of a plant. The constructs can be contained within a vector. Transgenic plants transformed with the fiber-specific elements can e made which have expression of polynucleotide or polypeptide directed to the plant fibers.

Cellulose Synthase Encoding Polynucleotides And Uses Thereof, Vincent L. Chiang, Chandrashekhar P. Joshi, Luguang Wu, Daniel T. Carraway May 2006

Cellulose Synthase Encoding Polynucleotides And Uses Thereof, Vincent L. Chiang, Chandrashekhar P. Joshi, Luguang Wu, Daniel T. Carraway

Michigan Tech Patents

The invention relates to isolated polynucleotides encoding functional cellulose synthases and UDP-glucose binding domain thereof, transgenic plants and plant cells transformed with the polynucleotides. The invention further relates to methods of transforming plants and plant cells with cellulose synthase or UDP-encoding polynucleotides.

System For And Method Of Performing Evaluation Techniques On A Log Or Round Timber, Xiping Wang, Robert J. Ross, James A. Mattson, John Erickson, John W. Forsman, Earl A. Geske, Michael A. Wehr May 2006

System For And Method Of Performing Evaluation Techniques On A Log Or Round Timber, Xiping Wang, Robert J. Ross, James A. Mattson, John Erickson, John W. Forsman, Earl A. Geske, Michael A. Wehr

Michigan Tech Patents

A system for and method of evaluating a log. The system includes an analysis module having at least one input terminal connectable to the at least one input device. The at least one input terminal is operable to receive at least one signal representing at least one measured property of the log and at least one determined parameter of the log determined in response to an energy being applied to the log. The analysis module further includes a processor coupled to the at least one input terminal. The processor determines a predictive modulus of elasticity (MOE) of the log based …

Regeneration Of Adsorbents Using Advanced Oxidation, John C. Crittenden, Sawang Notthakun, David W. Hand, David L. Perram Jan 1993

Regeneration Of Adsorbents Using Advanced Oxidation, John C. Crittenden, Sawang Notthakun, David W. Hand, David L. Perram

Michigan Tech Patents

The present invention is a method of purifying fluid having organic material. The method comprises two operational steps. The first step includes passing the fluid through an adsorbent such that the organic material is substantially adsorbed by the adsorbent and the fluid is substantially purified. The second step includes destroying the adsorbed organic material on the adsorbent and regenerating the adsorbent in a form substantially free of adsorbed organic material.
