Recently, the application of asphalt in coating purposes presented in different ways. On the other hand polymers are used to improve the properties of asphalt to use in coating purpose. Although asphalt has low cost, high cohesive nature, rheological properties and high thermal resistance but it is not practically used in coating, this because the long curing time of asphalt on the surface of the substrate which Inappropriate industrially, also asphalt need to additives to improve resistance to chemicals. So the aim of this research is to use polyurethane to improve asphalt properties to produce low cast, high qualified asphaltic …

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

The effect of ascorbic acid (50 and 100 ppm), benzyl adenine (50 and 100 ppm) and paclobutrazol (25 and 50 ppm) foliar application on growth, yield and some physiological parameters of sesame (Sesamum indicum var. Shandawil 3) plants were determined. All treatments caused a great improvement in growth parameters (shoot height, root lengths and number of leaves as well as fresh and dry weights of shoots and roots) of the developed plants. Paclobutrazol was more effective than other treatments in enhancing chlorophyll contents and carotenoid content. The results also showed that nearly all of the treatments tended to increase total …

Toxicity Of Some Microalgae To The Citrus Brown Mite Eutetranychus Orientalis (Klein), M. Abou Shosha, Taher Taha, Mustafa Fawzy

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

The citrus brown mite Eutetranychus orientalis is a common spider mite, which is a harmful pest in citrus orchards in Egypt. The toxic activities of some microalgae isolated from Egyptian soils and water are studied against E. orientalis. The toxicity of whole cultures (culturing broth and cell) of seven algal strains was tested against E. orientalis. Three strains out of the tested seven strains showed higher toxicity with mortality percentage reached up to 99 % after 72 h recorded against adult individuals of E. orientalis with a strain of Chlorella minutissima. The toxic activity was also tested against immature individuals …

Removal Of Malachite Green From Aqueous Solution By Sorption Method On Alkali-Activated Water Hyacinth Stems, Hassan El-Adawy

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) was found to have biosorption capacity for cationic dye, malachite green (MG) from aqueous solutions. The study was carried out under various experimental conditions such as dye concentration, adsorption dose, pH and temperature to assess the potentiality of alkali activated water hyacinth stems (AAWHS) for the removal of malachite green dye from waste-effluents. A high percentage of dye removal was observed with the decrease in the initial concentration of dye and increase in amount of adsorbent. Equilibrium isotherms were analysed according to the Langmuir models of adsorption, showing to be applicable with maximum monolayer adsorption capacity …

Contribution Of P11 (1440) Resonance To The D(E, E′ Π+)Nn Reaction Including Nn Final State Interaction, Mahmoud Tammam

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

The effect of P11(1440) (Roper) resonance on the response functions for the positivelly charged pion electroproduction from the deuteron is studied using the well known spectator model. The amplitude for the elementary reaction γ* N→π+ N is taken from MAID2003 model. The effect of the NN interaction subsystem in the final state interaction (FSI) is included. Two values for the four momentum transferred Q2 are used. A small effect of the Roper resonance on the structure functions is found.

Water Salinity, Total, Temperary And Permanent Of The Pleistocene Aqifer Samples In El-Sadat Area., M. Wassel, A. Swlem, S. Shama, A. Hamouda, A. Desouky

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

From the arithmetic mean values of different ions that predict the most effective ions affecting the salinity level, the obtained data of Pleistocene aquifer show that the effective ions that cause an increase of water salinity are in the orders: Na+ > Ca2+ > Mg 2+ as cations, HCO3-> Cl-> SO42- as anions As a result of cation exchange processes, the increase of Na+ concentration and decrease in Ca2+ and Mg2+ in solution, lead to a considerable decrease in salts causing temporary and permanent hardness in form of CaMg(HCO3)2 and CaMgSO4 salts, respectively. While causing a considerable increase in water salinity but …

Wam model is used with resolution 0.25O to simulate wind and swell wave's behavior that is generated with constant wind speeds (0.1 m/sec to 20 m/sec). The area of study is over the Pacific Ocean (24°S - 3°N and135°W - 109°W). It is found that the model results show for near calm wind case (0.1 m/sec), no significant impact up to 72 hours on wave height, swell and total wave height. It is also shown in the later case that the wave height is mainly swell wave. In this work a threshold wind speed value (about 7 m/sec) is detected. …

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

The interference microscope measurements with white light scanning interferometry (WLSI) and phase stepping interferometry (PSI) have been improved by optimizing the experimental conditions such as vertical distance between the objective and the surface under test (z), the tilt angles of the incident light beam with the surface and incident light intensity (I). Finally an accurate surface parameters measurement is obtainable. A genetic algorithm code has been developed to determine the best values of experimental conditions instead of manual adjustment by the operator. The combined uncertainty has been successfully reduced from 3.01 nm to 0.84 nm for the WLSI roughness measurement. …

The produced samples are investigated using XRD, SEM, FT-IR, pyridine adsorption and N2 adsorption measurements. XRD results show that the product obtained by different silica sources is nano sized ZSM-5 phase. SEM results show that silica sources influences on shape of the produced ZSM-5; the sample which was prepared by silicic acid …
