Entoloma Mengsongense Sp. Nov. (Entolomataceae, Agaricales),A Remarkable Blue Mushroom From Yunnan Province, China, Aseni Navoda Ediriweera, Samantha Chandranath Karunarathna, Jianchu Xu, Kevin David Hyde, Peter Edward Mortimer

Turkish Journal of Botany

A new agaric species, Entoloma mengsongense, is described and illustrated from samples collected in Mengsong, Yunnan Province, China. Microscopic observations were carried out to describe the micro- and macromorphological characteristics of specimens, and molecular identification was performed to verify the novelty of the species. The species is mainly recognized by its conical to plano-concave pileus, with yellowish brown fibril and 4?8 × 4?6 µm sized, cuboid?quadrate basidiospores. Molecular phylogenetic analysis using ITS sequence data also indicated that this is a new species closely related to E. virescens and E. hochstetteri. Morphological and molecular phylogenetic differences separate E. mengsongense from all …

Two New Rhodocybe Species (Sect. Rufobrunnea, Entolomataceae)From The East Black Sea Coast Of Turkey, Ertuğrul Sesli̇, Alfredo Vizzini

Turkish Journal of Botany

Two new species of Rhodocybe, R. asanii and R. asyae (Entolomataceae), are described and illustrated from the East Black Sea coast of Turkey. The new species are known from two different localities in Trabzon Province. Diagnostic morphological and molecular (nrITS and nrLSU sequences) characters between the new species and their allies are compared and discussed. Rhodocybe asanii is easily distinguished from related species by its small, reddish beige, convex to plate, or irregular, fragile pileus; adnexed to sinuate lamellae; a pruinose stipe; small basidiospores; and unique sequences. Rhodocybe asyae is recognized well by a rather small, thin, salmon pink, smooth, …

Phlomis Iranica (Lamiaceae: Lamioideae), A New Species Fromthe Khorassan-Kopet Dagh Floristic Province, Ne Iran, Jamil Vaezi, Maryam Behroozian, Mohammad Reza Joharchi, Farshid Memariani Jan 2017

Phlomis Iranica (Lamiaceae: Lamioideae), A New Species Fromthe Khorassan-Kopet Dagh Floristic Province, Ne Iran, Jamil Vaezi, Maryam Behroozian, Mohammad Reza Joharchi, Farshid Memariani

Turkish Journal of Botany

The genus Phlomis L. consists of three species, Ph. cancellata Bunge, Ph. chorassanica Bunge, and Ph. herba-venti L., in the Khorassan-Kopet Dagh floristic province, NE Iran. A new species is described and illustrated here as Ph. iranica Joharchi & Vaezi sp. nov. from this area. We included voucher specimens of the new and allied species in a morphological and molecular (nrDNA ITS) framework to examine the taxonomic status of the new taxon. Results showed that Ph. iranica can be morphologically distinguished from the species distributed in NE Iran by seven diagnostic traits including length and width of calyx tube, flower …

A Review Of Subtribe Phrosinellina Verves, 1989, With Descriptionof Phrosinella (Asiometopia) Kocaki Sp. Nov. From The Middle East(Diptera: Sarcophagidae: Miltogramminae: Metopiaini), Yury Verves, Liudmyla Khrokalo Jan 2017

A Review Of Subtribe Phrosinellina Verves, 1989, With Descriptionof Phrosinella (Asiometopia) Kocaki Sp. Nov. From The Middle East(Diptera: Sarcophagidae: Miltogramminae: Metopiaini), Yury Verves, Liudmyla Khrokalo

Turkish Journal of Zoology

Phrosinella kocaki Verves & Khrokalo sp. nov. from Israel is described as being new to science. A similar species, Phrosinella kozlovi (Rohdendorf, 1925), is recorded for the first time for Turkey and redescribed. Faunistic and ecological data on 31 species from 3 genera of subtribe Phrosinellina are given: Gymnoprosopa Townsend, 1892 (6 species); Gymnopsidia Shewell, 1987 (1 species); and Phrosinella Robineau-Desvoidy, 1863 (24 species). An original key to the genera and subgenera is presented.

Eustenomacidius Egeuniversitatis Sp.N. - The First Record Of Thetenebrionid Genus In Turkey (Insecta: Coleoptera), Beki̇r Keski̇n, Maxim V. Nabozhenko, Nurşen Keski̇n Jan 2017

Eustenomacidius Egeuniversitatis Sp.N. - The First Record Of Thetenebrionid Genus In Turkey (Insecta: Coleoptera), Beki̇r Keski̇n, Maxim V. Nabozhenko, Nurşen Keski̇n

Turkish Journal of Zoology

The new species Eustenomacidius (Caucasohelops) egeuniversitatis sp. n. is described from Southeastern Anatolia (Van Province). The species differs from two other representatives of the subgenus Caucasonotus Nabozhenko, 2006 by the absence of temple grooves (lower aspect of eye having a posterior ventral groove) and shiny body without microsculpture. It is the first record of the genus in Turkey. Data on bionomics and a key to species of the subgenus Caucasonotus are given. Mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I (cox1) barcoding regions of type specimens were also sequenced and uploaded to GenBank.

Three New Truncatelloidean Gastropod Species From Turkey(Caenogastropoda: Littorinimorpha), Mustafa Emre Gürlek

Turkish Journal of Zoology

New species of Bithyniidae (Pseudobithynia adiyamanensis sp. nov.), Hydrobiidae (Pseudorientalia ceriti sp. nov.), and Bythinellidae (Bythinella yerlii sp. nov.) are described from three different locations in Turkey. Samples were collected in 2013 and 2016 and the shell and male genital tract morphology of the new species were studied. All of these new taxa were compared to congeners that live in Turkey and adjacent countries.
