Maps Depicting Extent Of Suitable Habitat For Juvenile Striped Bass Morone Saxatilis In Chesapeake Bay, 1996-2019, Rachel L. Dixon, Mary C. Fabrizio, Troy D. Tuckey, Aaron J. Bever Jan 2022

Maps Depicting Extent Of Suitable Habitat For Juvenile Striped Bass Morone Saxatilis In Chesapeake Bay, 1996-2019, Rachel L. Dixon, Mary C. Fabrizio, Troy D. Tuckey, Aaron J. Bever

Data

To depict the extent of suitable habitat for striped bass age-0 to -4 across a range of environmental conditions, six years between 1996 and 2019 were selected to represent relatively low, high, and average thermal (warm, average, cool) and hydrologic (wet, average, dry) conditions in the Chesapeake Bay.

Habitat suitability maps for each age class, survey, and season combination studied for juvenile striped bass are provided as data layers suitable for GIS use as .asc files for each of these six years. Habitat suitability indices were estimated using procedures described in Dixon et al. (2022; see associated publication below).

Evaluation And Enhancement Of Carbon Sequestration Potential Of Existing Vegetation Along Roadsides, Vikram Kapoor, Jeffrey Hutchinson, Samer Dessouky Aug 2019

Evaluation And Enhancement Of Carbon Sequestration Potential Of Existing Vegetation Along Roadsides, Vikram Kapoor, Jeffrey Hutchinson, Samer Dessouky

Data

Corresponding data set for Tran-SET Project No. 18HSTSA01. Abstract of the final report is stated below for reference:

"The objectives of this study were to evaluate the vegetative composition and carbon sequestration potential of vegetation along a major roadway in Texas. Soil and vegetation were evaluated along IH-35 within Bexar County for composition and carbon content. Three 20 m transects were placed at each site and percent vegetative cover was estimated and above ground plant biomass, and soil was collected from three 0.25 m2 subplots along each transect. Plant and soil samples were analyzed for carbon content. Two non-native grasses, …

A Climatological Dataset Of Nutrient, Chlorophyll, And Particulate Matter Distributions On The Ross Sea Continental Shelf Derived From Cruise-Based Measurements Spanning 1967 To 2016, Walker O. Smith Jr., Daniel E. Kaufman Oct 2018

A Climatological Dataset Of Nutrient, Chlorophyll, And Particulate Matter Distributions On The Ross Sea Continental Shelf Derived From Cruise-Based Measurements Spanning 1967 To 2016, Walker O. Smith Jr., Daniel E. Kaufman

Data

This dataset includes data used in the publication Smith and Kaufman (2018), Progress in Oceanography, which examines the temporal and spatial distributions of nutrients and particulate matter in the Ross Sea continental Shelf using cruise-based observations, and compares the resulting annual productivity estimates with previously reported satellite-based estimates. Specifically, these data represent distributions of nutrients, chlorophyll, particulate organic carbon, particulate organic nitrogen, and biogenic silica that were compiled from 42 cruises (from 1967 - 2016) to the Ross Sea continental shelf to generate a comprehensive climatological dataset for November, December, January, and February. This climatology provides a novel look at …
