Flora Of Kumalar Mountain (Afyon), Ekrem Akçi̇çek

This study was carried out to determine the flora of Kumalar Mountain (Afyon) which is located in the transition zone between the Aegean and Central Anatolia. After the evaluation of 2204 plant specimens collected from the research area between 1996 and 2001, 89 families, 388 genera and 898 taxa were identified. Thirty-two taxa are cultivated and the rest are native. The number of endemic taxa is 122 (14.1%). The phytogeographic elements represented in the study area are as follows: Irano-Turanian 133 (15.4%), Mediterranean 99 (11.4%) and Euro-Siberian 73 (8.4%). Two new varieties, Ctenidium molluscum (Hedw.) Mitt. var. condensatum (Schimp.) Britt. and Ctenidium molluscum (Hedw.) Mitt. var. robustum Boul. collected from the western Black Sea region were determined to be new records for the moss flora of Turkey.

Plant Diversity In Abant Nature Park (Bolu), Turkey, Arzu Uçar Türker, Adi̇l Güner

The vascular flora of the central part of the Abant Nature Park (Bolu, Turkey) was assessed during 1994-1995. Plants (1440 specimens) were collected from the research area and by the evaluation of them and the relevant literature it was determined that there are 664 species in the area including 150 subspecies and 67 varieties, belonging to 84 families and 332 genera. Arabis Mollis Steven (Brassicaceae): A New Record For Turkey, Bi̇rol Mutlu, Ali̇ Arslan Dönmez

A number of specimens of Arabis mollis Steven have been collected from Van. The species is a new record for the flora of Turkey. A description, photograph and distribution map of the species are given and an identification key is supplied for its close relatives. The nomenclatural problems between the species and its synonym, A. christiani N.Busch, are discussed.

Four species of myxomycetes are recorded for the first time from Turkey: Licea variabilis Schard., Licea synsporos Nann.-Brem., Oligonema schweinitzii Martin, and Didymium iridis (Ditmar) Fries. Furthermore, Oligonema Rost. is a new genus record for Turkey.

The material of this study comprises macrofungi specimens which were collected from different localities in Alanya district in the Mediterranean region between 1999 and 2001. As a result of field and laboratory studies 188 taxa belonging to two classes and 38 families were identified. Eleven taxa belonged to Ascomycetes and 177 to Basidiomycetes.

The macrofungi specimens were collected from different localities of the Bozkır (Konya) district in 2000-2001, particularly during autumn and spring. As a result of these field and laboratory studies, 74 species belonging to 23 families were identified. Of these, seven belong to Ascomycetes and 67 belong to Basidiomycetes.

This study was done on edible, inedible and poisonous macrofungi collected around the Balıkesir-Manisa highway from two different areas (roadside and background area) in 1998-1999. Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Co, Cd, Ni and Pb contents were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometer in 256 samples belonging to 24 macrofungi species. The habitat, edibility and distribution of the taxa in the families were listed. According to mean dry weight (DW), Mn, Co and Cd contents were high in Omphalotus olearius (DC.: Fr.) Two species of lichenized Ascomycotina, Cyphelium notarisii (Tul.) Blomb. & Forss. and Strangospora moriformis (Ach.) Stein are newly reported for Turkey. Both species were collected from Pinus nigra subsp. pallasiana in Eskişehir province.

The research area is situated in Kahramanmaraş province. In this study, during the period 1998-1999 1265 plant specimens, 67 families, 268 genera, 520 species and eight subspecies were collected and identified. The total number of specific and infraspecific taxa is 528. Thirty-five of the 528 taxa are new records for the C6 square. The number of endemic plants is 55 (10.42%). The distribution rates of the specimens into phytogeographical regions are as follows: Mediterranean elements 145 (27.46%), Irano-Turanian elements 76 (14.39%) and Euro-Siberian elements 23 (4.36%).

A total of 169 species of macrofungi were determined in Samsun province between 1997 and 2001, of which 19 belonged to the Ascomycota, 149 to the Basidiomycota and one to the Myxomycota. Among these, 51 species were edible, 67 inedible, 28 edible but not worthwhile or best avoided because of possible confusion with poisonous species, and 12 species were poisonous. The edibility of 11 species was unknown.

The myxomycete flora of Erzurum, Bayburt and Gümüşhane provinces was investigated. Thirty-one myxomycete species were isolated in moist chamber culture. Licea tuberculata G.W.Martin, Physarum leucopus Link and Didymium crustaceum Fr. are new records for Turkey.

Five species belong to the class Ascomycetes and 54 to the class Basidiomycetes and they are as follows; Ascomycetes: Helvellaceae: 1, Morchellaceae: 3, Nectriaceae: 1, Basidiomycetes: Lycoperdaceae: 3, Sclerotermatacea: 1, Tremellaceae: 1, Ganodermataceae: 1, Rhizopogonaceae: 1, Polyporaceae: 8, Schizophyllaceae: 1, Nidulariaceae: 1, Pleurotaceae: 2, Boletaceae: 5, Tricholomataceae: 8, Agaricaceae: 9, Coprinaceae: 7, Strophariaceae: 1, Cortinariaceae: 2, Russulaceae: 3. Coprinus fimetarius (L.) Fr., Coprinus silvaticus (L.: Fr.) Fr., and Cortinarius violaceus (L.: Fr.) Fr. are new records for Turkish mycoflora.

The Flora Of Ahırdağı (Afyonkarahisar) And Its Environs, Mustafa Kargioğlu

The flora of Ahırdağı was investigated between 1996 and 2000. In the vegetation periods, a total of 965 plant specimens were collected. At the end of the study 603 taxa at species and subspecies ranks belonging to 299 genera and 80 families had been determined. Seventy-nine taxa are endemic, and the ratio is 13.10 %. The phytogeographical spectra of the species are as follows: Mediterranean 13.10 %, Irano-Turanian 11.61 %, Euro-Siberian 11.61 % and phytogeographically unknown 63.68 %. Threatened categories were proposed for the 79 endemic taxa according to IUCN categories.

Some macrofungi specimens were collected from Yahyalı (Kayseri) province in 2000-2001. As a result of field and laboratory studies, 94 taxa belonging to 28 families were identified. Nine species belong to Ascomycotina and 85 to Basidiomycotina. The distribution, habitat and collecting numbers of the identified species are given.

This paper describes a floristic study of Kızıldağ (Isparta/Turkey) and its environs. The study was carried out during 1993-1996 and 1515 vascular plant samples were collected. After the identification of the specimens, the total flora has been determined as 786 taxa belonging to 770 species, 371 genera and 84 families. The endemism rate of the area is 15.5% for the 122 taxa. The largest 3 families are Asteraceae (89 species), Fabaceae (65 species) and Poaceae (62 species). The largest genera are Ranunculus L.
