Dr. Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institute of Health (NIH), also serves as the Associate Director of the NIH for research on the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and as Director of the NIH Office of AIDS Research. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Fauci received his M.D. degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1966.
