Anatomical Findings Of The Genus Galium L. (Rubiacaeae) In Egypt And Their Systematic Implications, Kadry N. Abdel-Khalik, Monier M. Abd El-Ghani, Ahmed A. Elkordy

Turkish Journal of Botany

Transverse stem sections of 11 species and 2 subspecies of the genus Galium L. from Egypt were studied by light microscopy. Epidermal cell shape, cortex, xylem, and pith were of good taxonomic value between the taxa. Four types of stem shape were discerned in the transverse sections. The shape of epidermal cells can be used to distinguish between subspecies of Galium setaceum Lam. The cortex varied in size from wide to very narrow. Comparative Morphological, Anatomical, And Palynological Studies On The Genus Stachys L. Sect. Ambleia Bentham (Lamiaceae) Species In Turkey, Muhi̇tti̇n Di̇nç, Meryem Öztürk

In this study, comparative morphological, anatomical and palynological studies of Stachys L. sect. Ambleia Bentham species (Lamiaceae) in Turkey are carried out on the plants collected from their type localities. These species are Stachys cydni Kotschy ex Gemici & Leblebici and S. yildirimlii M. Dinç, which are highly local endemics. Morphologically, micromorphological features of the trichomes are studied. Trichome morphology appears to have a taxonomic value with respect to the results.
