Transcriptional Silencing Of Cdk18 And Its Role In Lung Carcinogenesis Of Brg1-Mutant Lung Cancers, Loryn M. Phillips Apr 2023

Transcriptional Silencing Of Cdk18 And Its Role In Lung Carcinogenesis Of Brg1-Mutant Lung Cancers, Loryn M. Phillips

Biology ETDs

BRG1 is mutated in 10% of lung cancers, making this mutation clinically relevant. The downstream effects of BRG1 included significantly affecting the cell cycle control and chromosomal replication pathway. CDK18, a cyclin-dependent kinase, was determined to be the gene with significantly decreased expression (p

Temporal Dynamics And Spatial Analysis Of Competing Dengue 2 Virus Strains In The Americas, Stacy O'Neil Scholle Jul 2010

Temporal Dynamics And Spatial Analysis Of Competing Dengue 2 Virus Strains In The Americas, Stacy O'Neil Scholle

Biology ETDs

The dengue virus is the causative agent of an important re-emerging infectious disease that has become increasingly significant in tropical America and the Caribbean due to the infiltration of a more pathogenic Asian/American strain of dengue serotype 2 into the population. This invading strain is responsible for epidemics of dengue hemorrhagic fever, a life-threatening disease that was not previously a large public health concern in the region. Here, I create a historical map of the invasion and replacement of the endemic American strain of dengue 2 by the Asian/American strain, showing that the timing of invasion spans 25 years, and …

Metabolic Rate And Body Weight Measurements Of Dipodomys Ordi And D. Merriami Under Various Stresses Of Dehydration, Nancy Rose Benally Feb 1962

Metabolic Rate And Body Weight Measurements Of Dipodomys Ordi And D. Merriami Under Various Stresses Of Dehydration, Nancy Rose Benally

Biology ETDs

It is of interest to investigate the possible effect of a new synthetic steroid, Aldactone, on the total body weight of the rodent Dipodomys. In addition, the present study includes the effect of dehydration and of high salt intake on the oxygen consumption of the Dipodomys, in a resting state.

Serum Protein Electrophoresis Study Of Citellus Species, Rondal E. Bell May 1960

Serum Protein Electrophoresis Study Of Citellus Species, Rondal E. Bell

Biology ETDs

The systematic separation of species of the genus Citellus is based principally on external and cranial features. These features are well known in most of the genus, but there has been considerable uncertainty concerning the subgeneric allocation and a more comprehensive study is needed.
