Hydroxyl-Terminated Poly(Urethane Acrylate) As A Soft Liner In Dental Applications: Synthesis And Characterization, Selda Keskin
Hydroxyl-Terminated Poly(Urethane Acrylate) As A Soft Liner In Dental Applications: Synthesis And Characterization, Selda Keskin
ABSTRACT: Hydroxyl-terminated poly(urethane acrylate) s were synthesized for use in biomedical applications. Acrylate end capping via an interesterification reaction was successfully achieved with methacryloyl chloride addition to the hydroxyl ends of the polyurethane at low temperatures. 2,4-Toluene diisocyanate, 1,6-hexane diisocyanate, and methylene diphenyl diisocyanate were used as diisocyanates for urethane synthesis, and they were end-capped with methyl methacrylate and hydroxyethyl methacrylate. The nature of the monomers that we used had an effect on the thermal and morphological properties that were interpreted in terms of the level of hydrogen bonding and the degree of phase separation. The synthesized polymers were characterized …
Microtensile Bond Strength Of Self-Adhesive Resin-Based Dental Cement, Selda Keskin
Microtensile Bond Strength Of Self-Adhesive Resin-Based Dental Cement, Selda Keskin
This study investigated the effectiveness of bleaching agents on the micro tensile bond strength (mTBS) of self-adhesive luting cement and enamel. A total of 126 samples were prepared from the labial surfaces of permanent human maxillary central incisors and assigned into three groups with 42 samples each as: control, enamel bleached with 10% hydrogen peroxide (HP), and enamel bleached with 10% carbamide peroxide (CP). Rely X Unicem1 (3 M, ESPE) was used as self-adhesive resin cement. The total testing period for bleaching was selected as 14 days and the bleaching agents were applied 8 hours a day. The statistical one-way …

Investigations into the origins and evolution of regulatory mechanisms require quantitative estimates of the abundance and co-occurrence of functional protein domains among distantly related genomes. Currently available databases, such as the SUPERFAMILY, are not designed for quantitative comparisons since they are built upon transcript and protein annotations provided by the various different genome annotation projects. Large biases are introduced by the differences in genome annotation protocols, which strongly depend on the availability of transcript information and well-annotated closely related organisms. Here we show that the combination of de novo gene predictors and subsequent HMM-based annotation of SCOP domains in the …

Vermicomposting using Lumbricus rubellus was conducted in two different durations, 10 and 30 weeks in the same plots. Three different of treatments combination were prepared with eight replicates for each treatment namely cow dung : kitchen waste in 30:70 ratio (T1), cow dung : coffee grounds in 30:70 ratio (T2), and cow dung : kitchen waste : coffee grounds in 30:35:35 ratio (T3). Macronutrients elements in the vermicompost from each treatment were measured in the tenth and thirtieth week. Comparatively longer duration of vermicomposting by using Lumbricus rubellus enhanced the quality of vermicompost by the increase of the macronutrient elements …

In the title compound, [CuCl2(C11H17N3)], the Cu-II ion is five-coordinated with a distorted square-pyramidal configuration. The three N atoms of the Schiff base ligand and one Cl atom are located in the basal plane, whereas the other Cl atom is apically positioned.

The gaseous plant hormone ethylene is perceived in Arabidopsis thaliana by a five-member receptor family composed of ETR1, ERS1, ETR2, ERS2, and EIN4. Methodology/Principal Findings Gel-filtration analysis of ethylene receptors solubilized from Arabidopsis membranes demonstrates that the receptors exist as components of high-molecular-mass protein complexes. The ERS1 protein complex exhibits an ethylene-induced change in size consistent with ligand-mediated nucleation of protein-protein interactions. Deletion analysis supports the participation of multiple domains from ETR1 in formation of the protein complex, and also demonstrates that targeting to and retention of ETR1 at the endoplasmic reticulum only requires the first 147 amino acids of …
