Tomatoes come in a wide range of fruit colors, sizes, shapes and maturities. Ripe tomatoes may be red, yellow, orange, pink or even green. Shapes vary from globe or round to slightly flattened, pear-like or cherry-sized. Often consumers complain tomatoes purchased in grocery stores are lacking in flavor or have tough skin. Pesticide Residue Determination In Shahr-E-Rey Tomatoes Using Quechers Method, Amin Mousavi Khaneghah Mr

Amin Mousavi Khaneghah

In this study, pesticide residues in tomato products from Shahr-e-Rey farms were measured and investigated by QuEChERS modified method. This method was on the base of the sample preparation in few steps and high speed. Measurement of pesticide residues was carried out by gas chromatograph with electron capture detector. In this study, most of the pesticides showed a recovery in the range of 70% – 120%. Limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) for all pesticides were lower than 0.50 and 1.90 μg/kg respectively. chlorpyrifos was detected in studied samples at average concentration 3.22 μg/kg, which was lower …

Impact Of Biofield Treatment On Growth And Yieldof Lettuce And Tomato, Vishal Shinde, Frank Sances, Shrikant Patil, Amy Spence

Mahendra Kumar Trivedi

Recent studies report the effect of biofield treatment on changes in structural characteristics of organic and inorganic matter, on cancer cells in vitro and on overall plant development. This study tested the impact of the same treatment applied to lettuce and tomato seeds and transplants (Lactuca sativa var. capitata and Lycopersiconesculentum var. Roma) in commercial plantings with and without fertilizers and pesticides, in relation to yield, quality, and pest inhibition. Treated lettuce plants with fertilizer and pesticide applications were more vigorous, exhibited less incidence of soil-borne fungal wilt, and subsequent yield was statistically greater 43% compared to untreated plants. Treated …
