In his remarks, John D. Feerick, Dean of Fordham University School of Law, decribes the many accomplishments of Judge Milton Pollack, recepient of the Fordham-Stein Prize. Dean Feerick applauds Judge Pollack's successful consolidation and settlement of the scores of private lawsuits brought on behalf of hundreds of thousands of investors against Michael Milken and Drezel Burnham, Lambert. In his response, Judge Milton Pollack describes how the Supreme Court's ruling in Erie v. Tompkins required federal judges to find and apply state law as interpreted by state courts.
