Replacement Of The Transfer Act: The Impact Of Connecticut's Effort To Expedite Contaminated Site Remediation, Avery Bikerman

The scope of this thesis is to analyze the legal framework established by House Bill 7001 and Public Act 20-9, which revise provisions of the CT Transfer Act, and establish a release-based reporting program which will be administered upon the sunset of the original act. While any release that occurred prior to the Release Based Remediation Program adoption (regardless of discovery date) is still regulated by the original Transfer Act, any release that occurs subsequent to the adoption of the new program will be regulated by the Release Based Remediation Program. Prison Mental Health Programs: A Growing Need Within The American Correctional System, Justin Van Dunk
Liberty University Journal of Statesmanship & Public Policy
America’s correctional system is continuously presented with issues that require attention and immediate action. One of these areas deals with the mentally ill American prison population. It has been determined that roughly 60% of inmates have been diagnosed with a form of mental illness. With this problem within our correctional system, programs need to be created that specifically treat the mentally ill within these facilities. Such programs' end goal should be focused on aiding the mentally ill and reducing recidivism within this correction population. Throughout this paper, we will discuss specific implemented programs and whether these programs succeed in helping …
