This presentation comparatively examines relationships in the United States, Eastern and Central Europe, Scandinavia, and parts of the Middle East among juvenile violence, "heavy metal" music, substance abuse, and participation in occult and "alternative" youth groups (e.g., Wicca, Satanism, vampirism, Goth). We trace the movement of certain groups, behaviors, and preferences and make a correlation between some of these movements and an increase in youth violence and substance abuse. The authors use results from surveys and participant observations in the U.S., Copenhagen, Germany, the Netherlands, & the Middle East (Egypt & Turkey) that indicate, however, that mere participation in these …

This presentation presents initial results of an evaluation of citizen and officer perceptions of policing in Ghana. The Ghana Police Service (GPS) is attempting to transition from a para-militaristic philosophy to a more community-centered approach, developing a domestic violence unit in the past decade and, more recently, a community policing unit. Community policing philosophies, however, face unique challenges in Ghanaian society, such as a deep-rooted (and historically well-founded) mistrust of the police, and a culture with a well-established and trusted “traditional” system wherein matters are settled within communities and impacted by religion, spirituality, and mysticism. En la presentación se efectúo la descripción del recorrido que ha efectuado la doctrina para reconfigurar las vías por las que los particulares pueden establecer cómo se transferirán sus bienes una vez acaecida su muerte. Para ello se estableció la nuestra estructura de actos negociales y la atención que debe prestarse a los objetivos que el causante desea alcanzar. En tal contexto, el fideicomiso se muestra como una herramienta flexible para lograr satisfacer diversos intereses y de muy distintas maneras.

MKN infördes i samband med att miljöbalken trädde i kraft 1999. Utgår från vad människa och miljö kan anses tåla Syfte (5 kap. 1 § MB): - att skydda människors hälsa eller miljön - i förebyggande syfte - för redan uppkomna skador på miljön - viktigt styrmedel för att genomföra de nationella miljökvalitetsmålen - uppfylla krav som ställs på grund av Sveriges medlemskap i EU. Används för att komma till rätta med miljöpåverkan från diffusa utsläppskällor som till exempel trafik och jordbruk. Baseras oftast på krav i olika direktiv inom EU.

Miljöproblemen med föroreningar i mark och vatten började att uppmärksammas på allvar i Sverige i början av 1970-talet. Det blev då alltmera tydligt att industrisamhället hade byggt upp en miljöskuld som inte bara utgjorde en lokal belastning på omgivningen, utan också ett storskaligt miljöproblem. 10 kapitel MB ställer reparativa krav på sanering eller efterbehandling, i synnerhet om verksamheten som hade orsakat problemen var nedlagd. Här är det alltså fråga om det ansvar som förorenaren har gentemot det allmänna att avhjälpa skador som uppkommit av hans verksamhet.
