This project views Title IX through a lens pertaining to transgender rights. It examines the historic adaptation and expansion of Title IX, and how it historically has not expanded to include transgender individuals. The project pays particular attention to the difference between the definitions of sex and gender, the bathroom and athletic debates in relation to transgender rights, and includes recommendations in order to properly include transgender individuals in Title IX legislation.

How are Hartford’s Hispanic immigrants and migrants participating politically? What inhibits or promotes their political incorporation? Close to half of Hartford’s total population identifies as Hispanic, with a portion of those individuals being immigrants or migrants to the city. As a community with a significant presence in Hartford, the political incorporation of Hispanic immigrants and migrants is necessary to ensure the adequate representation of all Hartford residents. This thesis investigates the extent of institutional support for Hispanic immigrant and migrant political incorporation in Hartford. Prosecuting The Police: How America’S Criminal Justice System Has Failed Breonna Taylor And Other People Of Color, Dayna Vadala

Using the Breonna Taylor case as an example, this thesis will investigate the ways that certain practices and policies in America’s criminal justice system have allowed discriminatory policing to flourish. People of color in America disproportionately experience acts of violence from police officers, and more often than not, there is no justice for these victims. The practices and policies that have been put into place to combat racial injustices in America have been ineffective because of the principles that govern our system. The way that America’s criminal justice system operates is inherently discriminatory and the need for reform is urgent.
