The Role Of The Apprenticeship And Clinics In Legal Education And Legal Culture In The Netherlands, Richard J. Wilson

This paper examines the current context of legal education within Dutch legal culture, focusing on changes in the traditional apprenticeship phase of law training there, which is undergoing major reforms that respond to the growth of “big law.” The article also provides a case study of the growing role for clinical legal education in the Netherlands, a progressive country in Western Europe where traditional legal education has held sway for centuries.
