This paper examines Ridley Scott's 1982 film Blade Runner as a cautionary tale relating to the role of law in technology augmented environment.Blade Runner presents a regime that uses law first in order to create beings withe superior abilities and pre-determined longevity, and then to define them as non-human or non-beings, devoid of legal personhood, and thus exploitable.

The article describes the way in which law-related events are represented in Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood. Based on a narrative analysis, the paper will posit that In Cold Blood played a particular role in originating and shaping an innovative mode of representing law-related events, a mode that was widely employed since, in various artistic mediums and in popular culture. The intersection of law and protest may be perceived as an oxymoron. For many, law symbolizes stability and the maintenance of the socio-political and economic status quo while, at the same time, protecting human rights. Protest, conversely, points to the need to alter and reform the very same status quo, arguing that the conventional means of constructing politics and public policy through legislation and litigation have failed and that democratic and all other perceptions of justice have been halted. Prostitution As Exploitation: An Israeli Perspective, Shulamit Almog

The article presents an alternative approach, which proposes a new legal conceptualization for the prostitution phenomenon. This approach calls for a legislative model which prohibits prostitution and places the onus of punishment and social infamy on the clients. The article applies the Israeli experience to pursue a claim that any attempt to employ the conventional legal doctrines in order to deal with prostitution is doomed to fail.
