This paper will address diversity in legal culture at the local and member state level and its impact on corporations striving to attain global competitiveness in the 21st century economy. The example of the European Union – which has been struggling to meet the demands of a global economy in relation to corporate structure and organisational management, while simultaneously maintaining diversity in legal and regulatory culture at a local level – will be considered.
