Policy controls that govern agency activity generally contain at least two components: (1) a substantive policy; and (2) a governance structure for ensuring implementation of and compliance with that policy. Effective controls require both. This proposal focuses on the second component, the governance structure. Specifically, it addresses routine monitoring, annual audits, enforcement of the AG’s policies that govern the facial recognition system, and public transparency. Established facial recognition policies, including those that the Task Force has looked to as models, recognize the importance of establishing such a governance structure.

Law Faculty Articles and Essays
For the last several months, my colleagues and I at the Ohio Department of Development have been focused on the formation of a statewide economic development strategy that will establish our priorities and guide our future decisions. Ultimately this strategy will serve as an economic development plan for Ohio that will be led primarily by the Ohio Department of Development, along with the Governor's office and other state agencies and departments. Four Ohio Women blazed the trail. Among the early women lawyers in our state, they overcame resistance from the male bar or the culture of the day to distinguish themselves in the profession. Nettie Cronise was the first woman admitted to the Ohio bar. Her sister Florence followed, several months later. Florence Allen, admitted in 1914, became the nation's preeminent woman judge of her time. Mary Grossman, from Jewish immigrant roots, had a memorable career on the Cleveland Municipal Court. Why did these women choose law despite society's obstacles? What do they have to tell us?
