This report submitted by the United States (US) Senate Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs, dated September 1, 1959, was written to accompany Senate Bill 1352 which proposed (with the consent of the Three Affiliated Tribes tribal council) to authorize enrolled tribal members to acquire tribal lands. Many who were relocated due to the construction of the Garrison Dam did not have adequate funds to reestablish themselves in their new location.
