The year 1967-1968 was the first full year of what might appropriately be called Phase II of the campaign to move the University of Georgia School of Law into the front rank of legal education. The year's activities were highlighted in the fall with the Dedication Exercises, at which the Honorable Hugo L. Black, Associate Justice of the United State Supreme Court, gave the principal address; and in the spring by the appearance of the Honorable Dean Rusk, Secretary of State of the United States of America, as our Law Day speaker.
