The last edition of this work was published in 1894. Since that time so many decisions upon important questions of Code Pleading have been reported that another edition has become necessary. To collect, cite, and classify these decisions with reference to the topics discussed in the text, and thus place them at the convenient disposal of members of the legal profession, as well as students of the law, has been the main purpose of the present editor.
