Part II of this paper addresses the legal issues presented by counterfeit cosmetics and false claims, and also compares the regulatory landscape in the United States versus that of the European Union. Part III analyzes how blockchain can be used to fill in the gaps left by the lack of strong regulations in the United States and provide consumers reliable methods of authenticating the ingredients in their personal care products.
