This paper looks at intelligence led strategic planning, specifically within the context of an operational private sector corporate security unit which the author managed from 1994 to 2005. It examines the role, mission and objectives of the unit, with specific emphasis on management models, planning frameworks, policy and strategy, client relations and performance measuring. It develops the concept that risk assessment and intelligence development are in fact the same process, acting to direct governance and informing decision making at both tactical and strategic levels.

Although the incidence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) in women is only slightly less than in men, women are poorly represented in research trials. As a result, not much is known about them as a subgroup. The specific aims of this article were to report on the problem, study methods, and findings focusing on HCV-positive women's health beliefs, how they identify and understand their health and illness states, and their explanatory models of illness behavior. The purpose of this research is to first describe the origins and current state of federal asset forfeiture law, then examine of how property seized under the forfeiture laws for drug law violations is proceeded against by the federal government. The methodology, which is primarily exploratory, utilizes both qualitative and quantitative data. A sample of over 6000 federal administrative and judicial drug forfeiture cases are described and analyzed to construct a profile of the federal government's use of this policy. Findings raise questions about the use of forfeiture and the government's intent. Implications and suggestions for future research are included.
