Lawyers are familiar with the history and development of the privilege and are keenly aware of the struggle we have had to preserve that right. As a part of our heritage it was placed in the Constitution in the Bill of Rights and was also incorporated in our various state constitutions. No one will deny that this privilege is one of the great landmarks in the struggle for justice, no one in his right mind would advocate that this right be taken away.
