The Investigation Of The Underlying Microstructure Associated With Fracture Features In 6061 Cold Sprayed Aluminum, Justin White
The Investigation Of The Underlying Microstructure Associated With Fracture Features In 6061 Cold Sprayed Aluminum, Justin White
UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Cold gas dynamic spraying commonly known as cold spray is a process currently used for restoration, re-tolerancing, and application of coatings. With additional resources allocated towards the development of a through process model aimed at predicting the properties of bulk material produced via the Cold Spray process, more lab testing and investigation must be done to capture the effects of the varying microstructure in CS materials. The properties of ultra-fine-grained materials are derived from data collected from coarse grained materials and processes that do not accurately capture the effects as elevated strain rates and ultra-fine-grained materials. The lack of property …
The Simulation & Evaluation Of Surge Hazard Using A Response Surface Method In The New York Bight, Michael H. Bredesen
The Simulation & Evaluation Of Surge Hazard Using A Response Surface Method In The New York Bight, Michael H. Bredesen
UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Atmospheric features, such as tropical cyclones, act as a driving mechanism for many of the major hazards affecting coastal areas around the world. Accurate and efficient quantification of tropical cyclone surge hazard is essential to the development of resilient coastal communities, particularly given continued sea level trend concerns. Recent major tropical cyclones that have impacted the northeastern portion of the United States have resulted in devastating flooding in New York City, the most densely populated city in the US. As a part of national effort to re-evaluate coastal inundation hazards, the Federal Emergency Management Agency used the Joint Probability Method …
Investigation Into The Relationship Between Hurricane Storm Parameters And Damage, Jeremy S. Young
Investigation Into The Relationship Between Hurricane Storm Parameters And Damage, Jeremy S. Young
UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations
“Economic damage, such as damage to property and infra-structure, from hurricane surges depends on two factors 1) the depth of coastal inundation and 2) the area covered by the surge” (Irish et. al 2007). Typically, damage estimates are developed after hurricanes have dissipated. To have the ability to predict hurricane damage in advance based upon various physical parameters would be a technical advance that could aid vulnerable coastal communities with hurricane planning. This thesis advances this goal forward by relating “Total Normalized Damage” to “Surge Scale” along with other key parameters. In this thesis Total Normalized Damages are compared to …
