Polarography Of Indium, John Jackson
Polarography Of Indium, John Jackson
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The purpose of this thesis is to study the various aspects of the polarography of indium. The eventual goal would be to develop a method of analyzing indium in unknowns. The investigation is approached by studying the indium ions in various electrolytes and in various concentrations.
The Gallium-Indium Constitutional Diagram, Richard E. Gaffney
The Gallium-Indium Constitutional Diagram, Richard E. Gaffney
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
Because of the discrepancy as to whether there is solid solubility in the gallium-indium system, and the fact that no alloys with less than 1% indium were ever investigated; the possibility of solid solubility in either or both ends of the diagram was not overlooked. According to Hume-Rothery, two alloys with the same relative positions on the Periodic Chart should have about the same alloying habits.
Determination Of The Activities Of Indium And Mercury And The Vapor Pressures Of Mercury Over These Amalgams From 0.00216 To 0.02494 Mole Fraction Indium At 25 C And From 0.00067 To 0.02410 Mole Fraction Indium At 70 C By Electromotive Force Measurements, Arthur H. Lutts
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
This work was performed to determine by experimental means the activities of both indium and mercury and the vapor pressures of mercury over these amalgams at 25 and 70 C.
A Study Of The Diffusion Of Electroplated Coatings In The Solid State., Michael R. Writt
A Study Of The Diffusion Of Electroplated Coatings In The Solid State., Michael R. Writt
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The term diffusion means an equalization or homogenization of diverse materials. Specifically applied to metals, diffusion is the interchange of atoms. It is, in effect, an invasion of one crystal lattice by the atoms of one or more other crystal lattices. Therefore, the study of diffusion must involve the geometry and physics of crystal lattices as well as their energies.
An Investigation Into The Recovery Of Indium From Fume Residue, Emery J. Turner
An Investigation Into The Recovery Of Indium From Fume Residue, Emery J. Turner
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
Several months were required to produce a single gram of indium. Consequently, the industrial history of the metal is extremely short. In view of the unique properties that indium has demonstrated in this short period, it is probable that indium is still in its early stage of development. However, the commercial applications of the metal are well established and indium is now produced on a commercial scale. It is obtainable as the metal or in solution for electroplating.
Investigation Of A Method For Extraction Of Indium From Zinc Flue Dust., Harold L. Tanner
Investigation Of A Method For Extraction Of Indium From Zinc Flue Dust., Harold L. Tanner
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
In metallurgical practice today some of the relatively rare metal Indium is recovered as a by-product from the ores of other metals. Indium is a soft, silvery—white metal belonging to the third group of the periodic classification. It is situated just above tin in the electrochemical series.
