Chemical Analysis Of Igneous Rocks And Variation Diagrams Of Petrographic Provinces Of Montana, Frederick M. Hilpert
Chemical Analysis Of Igneous Rocks And Variation Diagrams Of Petrographic Provinces Of Montana, Frederick M. Hilpert
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
A total of 179 chemical analyses of igneous rocks are available for the state of Montana, but these analyses do not cover the entire state in a satisfactory manner. There has been an emphasis on the central part of the state, and an almost complete lack of interest in the southern portion of Montana.
Mineralization Of The Bonanza Mine, H. M. Callaway
Mineralization Of The Bonanza Mine, H. M. Callaway
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The Bonanza mine of the Emery mining district in Powell County is on the largest veins in the area, and is developed to a depth of 680 feet by an incline shaft following the dip of the structure. Sulfide ores carrying gold and silver values are mined throughout the area which is easily accessible by road from Deerlodge, Montana, ten miles west of the district.
Daibase Sill Comanche County, Oklahoma, Jean A. Hardesty
Daibase Sill Comanche County, Oklahoma, Jean A. Hardesty
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The mechanics of intrusion and the processes involved are becoming of more and more interest to contemporary geologists, because most of our mineral deposits are associated with igneous intrusions, and unknown-outcropping deposits are thought to be a thing of the past. If, by studying these processes, we could understand why some igneous masses are barren, while others of similar composition carry economic mineral deposits, geological prospecting for hidden mineral concentration would see a new era.
Economic Talc Deposits Of Montana And Related Firing Problems, Charles J. Lyden
Economic Talc Deposits Of Montana And Related Firing Problems, Charles J. Lyden
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
This thesis has to do with a study of the production of talc in Montana, describing the local geology of each deposit, and a description of the laboratory tests that were made on various grades of Montana talc in an attempt to determine why some grades of talc can be burned in solid forms while others must be ground, mixed with a binder and molded.
Sizing By Elutriation Of Finely Ground Quartz And Pyrite, Elmer C. Polson
Sizing By Elutriation Of Finely Ground Quartz And Pyrite, Elmer C. Polson
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
Elutriation, as a means of sorting mineral particles, has received marked attention during the last fifteen years. Its use in the ceramics industry for the sorting of clays was recognized even before this.
The Velocity Of Falling Particles In A Liquid Medium, Elliott Coldwater
The Velocity Of Falling Particles In A Liquid Medium, Elliott Coldwater
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The investigation was prompted by the fact that there seemed to be some discrepancy between the results published by Richards, and the empirical figures used in classification and in gravity concentration. Further, the work of Richards was restricted to quartz and galena whereas this study also includes pyrite and calcite.
Pegmatites In Southwestern Montana, Ora Rostad
Pegmatites In Southwestern Montana, Ora Rostad
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
Little has been written on pegmatites in Montana except in conjunction with reports on mining districts. This subject was chosen as a senior thesis to see what facts could be ascertained regarding pegmatites alone, and an attempt has been made by the writer to assemble all written material on pegmatites in southwestern Montana, and to study specimens from those that could be reached or from which specimens were available.
The Concentration Of Scheelite From The Gold Concentrates Of The Jardine Mining Company, John H. Huxley
The Concentration Of Scheelite From The Gold Concentrates Of The Jardine Mining Company, John H. Huxley
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The Purpose of this thesis was to investigate the possibility of concentrating scheelite from Wilfley table gold concentrates from the mill of the Jardine Mining Company; and to determine whether such concentration is economically feasible and the product of sufficiently high grade to meet commercial specifications for such a product.
